Fight for Freedom

When Living Under Tyranny is Impossible

by Dwight Connelly

French and Indian War veteran Henry Ludington does not want another war which would threaten the lives of his family and put their New York farm in danger. However, as leader of the local militia, neither will he allow the King of England to dictate their future any longer.
Ludington’s oldest daughter, Sybil, follows her father’s military actions with her own contributions to the patriots’ cause. She’s surprised, however, to find herself in a special relationship with a British major who may be a spy.
Meanwhile, Ludington’s wife, Abby, provides the love and strength required to support her husband and daughter while keeping their large family safe as they fight the American Revolutionary War. Key political leaders, leading military leaders, spies, traitors, Indians, slaves, battles, inventors, rationing, George Washington, Benedict Arnold, Benjamin Franklin, and others are all part of their story.
The real Ludington family actually existed during our country’s Revolutionary War fight for freedom. This historical fiction is based on their story .
