About the Author

I am a retired clinical psychologist from Ohio. I live at The Villages, Florida and write inspirational self-help books meant to encourage the reader to joyfully finish the race set forth by God. My second book, “Creating Balance & Purpose in Life” was launched by Amazon on September 20, 2018. This book guides the readers as they develop or restore balance and meaning in their current stage of life. It can be offered as a course as is my recent book entitled: “Worry, Fret and Fear.. No More!”-Covid-19 Edition. This book takes the reader on a six week journey to unlearn the habit of worrying and overcome fear. I am available as an inspirational speaker on the topics covered in my books.

My third book is a “Study Guide & Gratitude Journal” meant to accompany “Worry, Fret and Fear…No More!” This book enables the reader to use the study guide to complete the questions presented each day in the “Worry” book. It also provides space for the reader to list five things for which he/she is grateful each day. This affords the reader an opportunity to gift the book to someone near and dear upon completion of the six week journey. These books are perfect for short term Bible studies or courses.

Recently, I wrote an inspirational Christian book based on my keynote presentation at the North Lake Presbyterian Church 2020 retreat. “Become a Beacon of Light”- Develop the Fruit of the Spirit and reflect God’s love. This book takes you through the Fruit of the Spirit- Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control and provides three week Action Plans to further cultivate your Fruit. The paperback edition includes a twenty-one day Gratitude Journal as well as an index of Bible verses or Books used in the contents of the book. (May, 2020).

I have now published three novels in the true-crime genre. This change occurred as the result of a case I was on as an expert witness; a story I have since wanted to tell. The names, places, and events are disguised. “The Christmas Slayings”, published December 7, 2019 is the story of a small gang and their victims. The gang terrorized a mid-size, Ohio town the week before Christmas 1992. I have become a pen pal with a woman who has served over thirty years for her part in those crimes. I recently visited her in prison and will continue to likely be her only outside source of life in this century.

Following “The Christmas Slayings”, during the pandemic, I published two more True-Crime novels. “Wives Who Kill” and “Husbands Who Kill”. Descriptions and reviews can be found on Amazon.com. My work in progress is “Kids Who Kill”.

Throughout my lengthy career as a psychologist in private practice, I was privileged to teach at The University of Dayton and other Dayton area colleges. Most recently, I taught the subject matter of my books to Retirees at The Enrichment Academy in The Villages, Florida and spoken to many clubs and organizations. My former students encouraged me to write the Christian/Judeo inspirational books. I also served as the Academic Dean and instructor at Casa Hope, a Christian transitional living house for young men who struggle with addictions and/or served time for drug related offenses. I developed courses relevant to their success and taught classes implementing the books I have written.

I belong to the Florida Writers Association, Word Weavers International, and the Writers League of The Villages. Professionally I maintain memberships in Ohio Women In Psychology, the Ohio Psychological Association (Emeritus), the American Psychological Association (Emeritus) and Women Doctors of The Villages.

I have been blessed with a balanced life consisting of being a mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, friend, beloved daughter and , sister-in-law. I don’t believe we are meant to simply retire, but rather to re-fire our strengths and passions in new directions. Writing is now my passion and my hope is to inspire others to understand their purpose in life and believe they are equipped to achieve it.

I look forward to sharing that Good News with you. God Bless.
