On an alien world, Alec finds himself inexorably drawn into an ancient war between two races – the elves and the orb – a war that has been raging across the multiverse for millions of years. The young scientist’s knowledge of dark energy – a force that flows through all matter – is coveted by both elf and orb. Then Alec encounters Erin – a woman with a regal bearing, but who is wearing a slave collar. Is she a slave? a princess? or both? Alec frees Erin and finds that she is indeed a princess who has been brutally enslaved by her nomad captors; he agrees to help her return to her people in Theland.
Unaccustomed to the barbaric ways in this alien place, Alec quickly finds that he must fight for his life. In addition to learning how to fight with sword and staff, Alec must learn to use his medallion and its tricrystal in new ways to harness dark energy and stave off certain destruction. The frightened residents of Theland hail Alec as a “Great Wizard,” and he realizes that with his knowledge of dark energy he has ignited the first spark in this world’s resistance to interplanetary war. The treachery of Erin’s step-father, powerful spells cast by hostile elves, and a reluctant dragon all stand in the way between Alec, Erin, and his homeland.
