The Price of Revenge

by Rita Boehm

PREDATORS COME IN MANY GUISES…THE ONES WHO WEAR UNIFORMS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS OF ALL

Nineteen-year-old Cathy has already lost her parents, and, unbelievably, the boy she loved. As a struggling college student, she enjoys her job waitressing at a local diner—and the flattering attention of the town’s middle-aged Police Chief.

Frank is a father figure. . . until he isn’t. Pretending to be a gentleman, Cathy is finally tricked into becoming his wife. Only after it’s too late does she realize that her husband, the powerful man who controls the town, is also a killer—and she is next on his list. Escape becomes her goal, revenge her mantra.

Faking her death, provides her with an escape, but framing Frank for her murder, provides a measure of revenge.

Cathy’s only solace is found in the anonymous embrace of the mountains and the trust of horses in her care. Then, after twenty long years on the run,  just as the love of a good man beckons, her past hurtles back to destroy her.

Frank is out of prison—and he’s coming to get his revenge. Two can play this game.
