One Bright day

Poems About the Dances of Life

by Barbara Welsh

One Bright Day provides a whimsical look at life, faith, and hope through a series of heart-felt poems. While reading through each chapter, you’ll see yourself in various life situations, some funny when you can laugh at yourself and some more serious to help you to look at life through a different lens.

Throughout the book, an underlying theme develops showcasing the power of dance. You’ll be surprised by discovering what a dance can do to uplift your spirits and activate a joyful mood. As you, the reader, begin to realize that life is like one long dance with many ups and downs; twists and turns; and different steps taken along the way. Life is a sum of every high and every low just like the moves in a dance or notes in a score of music.

Many of the poems were written during the Covid-19 pandemic when the poet turns to God for answers finding ways to solve this mysterious puzzle of life. Spirits will be lifted as you reminisce about traditional holidays throughout the year. You then will meet some unusual animals/pets like a seasick crocodile, a fluffy white bunny named Puffy who loves vanilla Turkish taffy, and a puppy who wears a red tutu.

Some of the poems will tickle your funny bone while others will strike a tender chord on your heart strings. The hand of God will reach out to you with poems of a spiritual nature providing true inspiration for life and happiness. As you read the poems, you will laugh, cry, meditate and reflect on choices and dilemmas you face. Anxious thoughts will float away as you learn to find inner peace and tranquility. Hopefully, by the end of the book, you will look in the mirror and see a bright new day with all the best things life has to offer.
