About the Author

During Mel Harrison’s 28-year career with the U.S. Department of State, he was presented with the Award for Valor and the Regional Security Officer of the Year award, worldwide.

Serving most of his career in the Diplomatic Security Service, he was assigned to embassies in Islamabad, Saigon, Quito, Rome, Seoul, and London (twice).

Earning a BS degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, he completed graduate work at The American University and graduated from the NATO Defense College in Rome.

Retirement saw Mel working in corporate security for another 10 years. Now, he’s writing a series of thrillers featuring Alex Boyd, a special agent with the Diplomatic Security Service. His novels are rich with description of real behind-the-scenes situations of a diplomatic career.
