A Glimmer of Hope is the story of Rochelle Berman and her family’s journey to raise a special needs child. Their second son, Eric, was born with spina bifida. After his birth, and the surprise of him being a special child, the family realized they had been chosen to go on this incredible journey.
“Not all families find this challenging time in their lives to be rewarding, but raising a special needs child will change you forever,” she said. “Never give up! You can do anything you put your mind to do. I know, I’ve been there.”
The family’s journey was determined by the love, empathy, encouragement, consolations, and dogged-determination to succeed that came with loving Eric.
Today, he is a successful professional after graduating with a degree in psychology and a master’s in social work. He is an inspiration to the countless families and individuals whom he has counseled over the past years.
“He has been a miracle to us,” Rochelle said. “I wanted to tell his story. He has changed all our lives for the better.”
